Pink the pop singer stand along with PETA

P!nk Pipes Up for PETA

“The Only Wildlife at Centro-Fly Is Human—No Fur Coats Allowed” declares red-hot singer P!nk on a poster promoting the cruelty-free dress code at the hip New York celebrity hangout. The singer, whose hits include “Get the Party Started” and “Don’t Let Me Get Me,” is tickled … well … pink at Centro-Fly’s no-fur policy and happily donated her time to sing the praises of a cause she believes in.

Each year, millions of animals are trapped, drowned, or beaten to death in the wild and gassed, strangled, or electrocuted on fur farms. Despite the fur trade’s attempts to revive the industry, sales remain half of what they were in the 1980s. Many designers, including Todd Oldham, and Stella McCartney, refuse to design with fur.

Centro-Fly’s dress code follows that of SPA, where manager Steve Lewis has directed his bouncers to turn away any fur-wearing club crawler (except for Steve’s dog, who often hangs out at the bar).
